Allegria is a not-for-profit community group with a strong social conscience. Where possible we aim to make a difference by donating our time, energy, music and surplus funds to the organisations and communities we support.
2008 Scotch College Concert with Women With Lattitude
Funds donated to Woza Moya, providing quality community care and support for people infected and affected by HIV and AIDS.
2011 Marion and Mitcham Council Citizenship Ceremonies
Aandhimul Village was our main fundraising focus in 2011, to provide villagers with running water and toilets. The first running water tap was turned on in March 2011, to much celebration.
2009 The Promethean (Sept) and Christmas (Dec) Concerts
Funds donated to World Youth International, contributing to the ongoing education of children in the village of Aandhimul in central Nepal. Funds raised have assisted in rebuilding the village school, providing eduational resources, and ongoing teacher training. Check out the Aandhimul Project Book.
2012 Christmas Concert
Over $1,200.00 was raised for theNorwood Lions Club and Habitat for Humanity. In addition Allegria donated their time to conduct a workshop and performance at Inverbrackie Detention Centre.
2010 Concert at Mitcham Village Institute
Funds donated toParkinsons SA. Over $1,000.00 was raised to help Parkinsons SA with their programs and services.
2013 Arts SA Fundraiser, The Wheatsheaf Hotel
Allegria, together with a bunch of great Adelaide bands, participated in this worthy fundraiser supporting Adelaide woman Julia Moretti following a double hand and foot amputation. Over $5,000.00 was raised to help with prosthetics for Julia.
Allegria also donated their time for a very enthusiastic performance at Highgate Park in Dec, entertaining residents, all with severe disabiity, and their families for their Christmas lunch.
