Allegria, formed in Adelaide in January 2008, is a 25-strong women’s a cappella group singing in four part harmony. The repertoire is varied, spanning Celtic, folk, traditional, modern pop and spiritual songs. The name Allegria is Spanish for joy, and reflects the spirit the singers bring to their music.

Allegria perform at community, public and private gigs around Adelaide, have appeared on Radio Adelaide, The Auburn Courthouse Festival, Port Augusta Festival and in 2015 travelled to Melbourne and Geelong for workshops and performances.

Allegria has twice supported the Spooky Men From the West in the Adelaide Fringe, and in 2017 sang with UK cellist Jo Quail to a sell-out audience. Their 2016 solo Fringe shows ’33 1/3 Shades of Love’ at the Jade Monkey were also sold out. In 2016 Allegria was privileged to perform in the Adelaide Festival play 'The Events' with Catherine McClements and

Allegria have produced two CDs, In Harmony in 2011 and Songs For The Soul in 2013.

Allegria musical director, Angela Sharp, has been teaching music and conducting singing groups for many years in Adelaide. Angela is a talented arranger, skillfully arranging most of Allegria's varied repertoire to suit the group.
